Hello
My name is Daniel "DJ" Jacobi II. I was born in Omaha, NE, and raised in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. I graduated from Center Point - Urbana high school in 2020 and I'm currently studying at Iowa State University. I am a part of the Iowa State Daily photography staff and am a freelancer for the Des Moines Register.
My Story
Since I was a child, I have always been fascinated by photography and videography. I was always curious how the artist would be able to capture such stunning work and what process they went through to seemingly freeze time.

I never acted upon this curiosity as I was busy with my music endeavors since I wanted to be a professional trombone musician. Once junior year of high school came, I finally took my first photography class and enjoyed every moment. I continued with music into college and just after one semester, I had a change of heart. I wanted to be a photographer.

I am currently studying at Iowa State University to graduate with a BFA in Liberal Studies. With this degree I hope to work for newspapers and magazines by traveling the world and capturing visual stories.
Auburn Focal
Auburn Focal is the freelancing brand and small business I created on my own. I have maintained booking appointments and numerous social media accounts since creating it's predecessor "DJ Photography" since May 2019.
